Black History - Color Sgt. Andrew Jackson Smith      

Andrew Jackson Smith (great, great, grand-father of Leroy T. Gibson III, founder of Blackhoo.com) was a contributor to the success of the Union Army in the Civil War.  Andrew Jackson Smith was awarded the Medal of Honor on January 16, 2001 for bravery in the Battle of Honey Hill, South Carolina, on November 30, 1864.

He was also a contributor to his community.  He is buried in Lyon County Kentucky.  There are some people who still remember him in and around Grand Rivers, KY.
